Beware of fraudulent messages from IRD!

小心來自稅務局的虛假消息！

Recently we have received emails claiming as IRD Assistant Commissioner, that we have an incompleted tax audit that needs to be handled. They have gone so far to attach an instruction list in pdf format, which contains a clickable link leading to a suspicious website.

Obviously it’s FAKE! Do not fall into these scams and never click on these links.  As a native Hongkonger we could notice that the word phrasing and format are clearly not the “Hong Kong style” and these documents are prepared by people from “a northbound country” (pun intended).  These sites should contain viruses, also they would need you to enter sensitive information which would clearly be used in a malicious way. See the below screenshots and determine for yourself.  DON’T FALL FOR IT!

 

最近我們收到自稱稅務局副局長的電郵，聲稱我們有尚未完成的稅務審查需要處理。電郵中夾附一份以 pdf 形式備製的附件，附件內有個網頁連結，導向至一個相當可疑的網站。

這明顯是虛假消息！切勿掉進此類詐騙，永遠不要點擊此類網頁連結。作為土身土長的香港人，我們不難發現其用詞遣字以及內容格式均不是「香港風格」，這些文件是由來自「某個北面國家」的人備製（猜猜看是誰！）。這些網站帶有電腦病毒，他們亦會要求您輸入敏感資料並作惡意用途。您可查看上述截圖後自行決定。切勿中計！
